Prevention
Collagen and elastin are the proteins in the skin which provide its "scaffolding" - essentially the support, structure, and thickness of the skin. As we age we naturally begin to lose collagen, for women at a rate of 1% per year after age 20, and up to 30% in the first 5 years after menopause, eventually settling at 5% loss per year thereafter. This natural process of collagen loss and skin changes is further accelerated by factors such as lifestyle, sun exposure, smoking, medical history, etc.
Taking an early and active interest in prevention of concerns can lead to less intensive management in future. Early intervention in skin conditions such as acne can also lead to reduced risk of scarring, and regular use of protective care such as SPF can also help reduce the risk of skin cancers.

Early Strategization
Early use of skin strategies such as protection with SPF, topical antioxidants, and regular skincare can help to reduce risk of future damage.
In office treatments such as PRP and microneedling also assist with boosting and maintaining collagen, while chemical peels can improve textural concerns.
