Belkyra® is a non-surgical injectable treatment designed to reduce unwanted fat beneath the chin and create a more defined jawline and profile.

Belkyra contains deoxycholic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that helps break down fat. When carefully injected into the fat beneath the chin, it disrupts fat cells, which are then gradually cleared by the body.

Once these fat cells are destroyed, they can no longer store or accumulate fat, making Belkyra a long-lasting option for appropriately selected patients.

 

What to expect

Treatment begins with an assessment of your chin, jawline, skin quality, and underlying anatomy to determine whether Belkyra is right for you. The treatment area is carefully mapped before a series of small injections are placed beneath the chin.

The appointment itself is relatively quick, although most patients require a series of treatments to achieve their desired result. Your treatment plan will be individualized based on your anatomy and the amount of submental fullness being treated.

 

Downtime

Swelling is expected after Belkyra and can be quite noticeable, particularly during the first few days following treatment. Tenderness, bruising, firmness, redness, tingling, or temporary numbness may also occur.

Most swelling gradually settles over the following days to weeks. Because downtime can be more noticeable than with many other injectable treatments, we recommend planning Belkyra around important events and allowing yourself time to recover.
